HUMANS;; -Humans are the group of people who, for the most part, have no supernatural ability. All humans are aware of vampires and werewolves, though some have either talked themselves into not believing it or do not treat them as humans any longer. They are mainly divided into those for VWRA (Vampire and Werewolf Rights Amendment) and those who are against it. -Hunters are those who try to kill off any supernatural creature. They generally have their own personal reasons for doing this, whether they had a friend or family member killed by one or if they just oppose the VWRA and think they shouldn’t exist. Hunters are not recognized by the US government and can be tried for murder should they kill a supernatural being, though often times they get away with it and it never goes to trial. No body, no murder. -Witches (male and female term) are humans who have some kind of magical ability. Mostly they rely on spells to work their magic and it is usually a talent passed down in the family or taught to them by a mentor. Some witches have a special talent. These talents are listed below. A witch can have only one special talent.
*Telekinesis: A witch with this power can move objects(small to medium sized) with pure thought. *Pyrokinesis: A witch with this ability can start small fires without a fire source. *Technopathy: A witch with this ability can manipulate technology with their mind. *Mediumship: A witch with this ability can communicate with the dead (spirits); seeing them and being able to talk to them.
VAMPIRES;; -All vampires were once human. They are what they were when they were turned, so they do not magically become beautiful after being turned. All vampires are made. They can not be born a vampire. Vampires have a hierarchy of their own and keep it as private as possible. Very few humans know about this system and the ones that do are usually on a need to know basis or are working for vampires. This system works like a small government and is set in place to control the supernatural creatures within its area. Most vampires prefer living within a coven. In the past, covens have been small due to the fact that they can get very territorial over their food. However, with the new supernatural government, called The Council, there has been an increase in the amount of vampires per coven, and also a few rogue vampires who choose to live alone. -Vampires have two fangs, one on each upper lateral incisor, not the canines. These fangs are not always present which is part of the reason they could go unnoticed around humans for quite some time. The fangs elongate either at will (though difficult for fledglings, or new vampires), due to lust, or because of hunger. -Turning a human into a vampire requires the vampire to drain the human almost completely of blood and then feed their blood to said human. -Vampires cannot eat human food. If they do they will throw it back up. They are able to drink other liquids, but most mix blood with it. Alcohol takes longer to affect a vampire than it does a human. -Killing a vampire is difficult. They must either meet the sun or be staked. They can survive with the loss of a limb and very old vampires can regenerate or put themselves back together if given enough blood. Decapitation will also kill a vampire. -When vampires die, their body disintegrates and turns into a mixture of dust and ash -Vampires strengths include:
*speed *strength *immortal (unless killed) *their blood heals the injuries of others (mostly kept secret so they are not exploited by hospitals) *fast healing -Vampire weaknesses include:
*silver – burns them severely *stakes – through the heart is lethal *blood – all vampires, though some are more skilled at hiding it and controlling themselves, have a need for blood in order to live *werewolf venom - a bite from a werewolf is poisonous to a vampire. It may not kill a vampire, but it can severely weaken them. A werewolf bite puts a vampire at a greater risk of being caught out in the sun and/or staked as the vampire can become physically ill and weak. *their skin is just as fragile as a human's, though it will heal faster.
WEREWOLVES;; -Werewolves are people who can shift into wolves. A werewolf can be born or made. Born werewolves are Weres that have at least one biological werewolf parent. The born werewolf will not make its first shift until around the age of fifteen. A made werewolf is one that has been bitten and experiences their first shift at their first full moon. A bitten werewolf can only shift during the full moon, where as a born werewolf has the ability to shift at any time. Werewolves have an extended life and slow aging process after they hit their late twenties to early thirties, but they will eventually die. -Weres can eat human food and drink human beverages. Alcohol affects them at a slower rate than it does humans. They also have been known to hunt in wolf form and eat whatever they kill. They have the ability to read each other's minds while in wolf form, but only thoughts that are directed towards another werewolf. -Wolves usually belong to a pack. Within this pack, Weres have their own hierarchy, but also are required to conform to The Council to maintain their alliance with the vampires. There are a few werewolves that do not belong to a pack, but these wolves must also conform to The Council's will in order to reside peacefully. Wolves that do not belong to a pack are usually looked down on. -Werewolves do not shift back to human with their clothes on. They will be naked. Most leave their clothes somewhere they know they will be when they shift back. Others simply don't care. -Vampire bites have no affect on werewolves. Werewolves also can not become vampires. -When killed, werewolves shift back into human form. -Werewolves shift into actual wolves. Not a half-human half-wolf hybrid. -Werewolves can mate with other Weres or with humans. -The period of gestation for a wolf is sixty-three days, humans being nine months. Those that carry the wolf gene will have a gestation period of seven months -Werewolf strengths include:
*physical strength *increased speed *extended life expectancy *increased healing speed *the ability to shift *ability to blend in better with humans (being able to be out in the sunlight) -Werewolf weaknesses include:
*silver – burns, though not as intense as vampire burns *the full moon – all Weres, bitten and born, feel the pull of the full moon *skin is fragile like humans, though heals faster *can be killed in most human ways

THE COUNCIL;;
The Council is made up of five vampires and two Werewolves for a total of seven members. Any vampire or werewolf can run for a Council position, but positions rarely open up because positions are held until the member is either killed or forced out of the position by a vote of the remaining Council members. The Council is set in place to make decisions regarding human – supernatural issues. It also keeps track of organized vampire activity. Very few humans know about the Council and that is the way most vampires and werewolves want it. It also acts as a court for the supernatural and hears trials that involve vampires and werewolves. The Council is currently based in New York City in a special section of United Nations building.
