Mutants. Since the discovery of their existence they have been regarded with fear, suspicion, often hatred. Across the planet, debate rages. Are mutants the next link in the evolutionary chain or simply a new species of humanity fighting for their share of the world? Either way it is a historical fact: Sharing the world has never been humanity's defining attribute. Mutation. It is the key to our evolution. It is how we have evolved from a single-cell organism into the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow, normally taking thousands and thousands of years. But every few millennia evolution leaps forward.
Mutant's are not the only ones who face this persecution however, it is the nature of humans to fear what they don't understand, anyone who shows any extraordinary abilities are met with distrust, fear, and violence. Hiding what they are is a way to keep from being judged, but even that isn't a sure way to stay safe, if one person finds out the secret they take one of two courses of action. They sympathize or they toss the one who is different to the wolves. The government's way of dealing with this is forced control in as many forms as they can think of. The goal is to make humanity feel safe with no regard for the fact that everyone else are simply seen as vermin. No rights, no compassion, no understanding; it's what they deal with on a constant basis when all they wish to do is co exist peacefully. The eyes of other beings have been turned towards the turmoil that is being inflicted raising more questions and curiosity that could be for good or ill.
Be one of those who struggle to survive every day life, one who shares the government's views, or sympathizes with those who are being beaten down, the choice is yours.
