Xavier isn't likely to have very many friends, but if they're able to get past certain traits of his (excessive drinking, gambling, and just messing with people's minds), then they've earned a spot amongst his small circle of friends; however, he has the tendency to annoy some people so much to the point where they won't even talk to him anymore. That being said, his friendships are short lived, unless they have something to offer to keep him interested. Otherwise, he won't stick around.
He's going to have more enemies than anything else. Xavier finds faults in everyone but himself and when people try to point out his own problems, he thinks they're just in denial. He picks fights with people all the time, even if he doesn't really mean to, and makes promises he can't usually keep. These things have earned him life-long enemies, and he doesn't bother to make amends or admit that he's wrong.
For the most part, Xavier doesn't really take relationships seriously. Most of them have been flings and one-night stands, and he very rarely goes for serious, long-term relationships. These relationships sometimes end badly; he either cheats or gets tired of being with the person, even if he's only been with her for a short amount of time.
